This project is in response to a funny VoiceThread that claimed that "Alaskans don't know what competitive dancing is". We discussed this as a class and it was decided that after watching "Stomp the Yard" and television shows, we know what competitive dancing is but we probably don't understand the deeper meaning or the subtle nuances. We decided as a group to share some of the Yup'ik activities that we have in Marshall other than seal hunting, which is really a down river activity. We hope that sharing our culture helps you understand some of the subtle nuances and meanings behind some of our activities. We certainly are enjoying learning about other people and cultures ;-)
